Today's trend is oversized lighting. I found these lanterns on Amazon for $104 each!

If you want a Big Bang for your $- change out some light fixtures. I made these mason jar pendants a couple years ago and I still like them I just wanted a change.

New Textiles for a new year
I love changing out my decor for the seasons. My IKEA Ektorp sofa and chairs got their winter coverings and I love the instant warmth and the fact that I have a "new" sofa for $189! However the IKEA I was visiting only had 1 chair cover in stock, waiting on it!! But you can see the difference from the kahki! I lightened up the rug with this find from Target. I can't spend a lot of $ on area rugs- it's my dogs' favorite spot to tinkle!!
I think my Ektorp sofa and chairs are three years old and I couldn't be happier with how they've held up. The lighter slipcovers are at the cleaners and will be put away til Spring!

Nanna's Rolls
Our first snow is on the ground and it's bitter cold. I love to bake on snowy days- it warms the house and the smells are amazing. Today was a great roll day!!
My Nana(who turns 93 next month) makes these rolls (still) every weekend. As a little girl I remember Saturday mornings at her house- watching her mix them and then later form them. The best part- warm rolls fresh from the oven for lunch!!
It's taken me a few years for my rolls to come close to hers! A lot of bad batches later, and I think they're "ok". I guess I just don't make them enough! Below is the recipe- straight from Nana! PS- they also freeze well after baking in freezer bags!

New Year- new goals
Since it has been almost a year since my last post (terrible!)- I thought I would try this blog thing again!! Lots of items on my list this year, I have three going: personal, family and house.
Just took down Christmas and I love how bare and fresh the house looks. Time to organize and freshen up, but cozy up too since it is winter in northeast Ohio (ugh).
